As soon as the door began to close, there were only two options. One, Camryn could step back out or two be trapped inside with him. She hated elevators. A tiny square box that consisted of three walls and steel doors. She knew he was watching her. He was not the problem. Her fear of being trapped in an elevator was her biggest concern.
Barrett had no idea why he wanted to reassure her. She had been quite irritable from their first chance meeting at the airport. “Hey, there’s no need to worry. We are only travelling to the sixth floor. The doors will open before you know it.”
Then it happened. The elevator jumped. Time ceased in that one moment. Camryn turned to look at Barrett. “You were saying.”
